Limited Representative Investment Banking
The Series 79 Examination is designed to assess the competency of entry-level
investment bankers. The # 79 exam is intended to measure the degree to which
each candidate possesses the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform
the major functions of an entry-level investment banker. They must be sponsored
by a FINRA member firm.
It's emphasized that the duties and functions of the investment banker must be
performed in accordance with just and equitable principles of trade, federal and
state laws, and industry regulations.
It is the responsibility of the candidate to be aware of changes in current
legislation, regulation and policy. A registrant who violates industry
regulations is subject to disciplinary action, including censures, fines,
suspension, and permanent loss of registration.

Note: The passing score is an absolute standard and it is independent of the
performance of candidates taking the examination. Since multiple forms of
the examination will be administered, the passing score will fluctuate
moderately from examination to examination. The pass point for the
examination will be indicated on the candidate’s score report.
Securities Exam does not have study materials for the Series 79 Exam.
